COLOMBIA - LA ESMERALDA

With this semi-washed caturron lot from Norbey Quimbayo, we continue our feature of Norbey's outstanding work on Finca La Esmeralda. Up front, this coffee presents the refined juiciness and delicate, clean fermentation of umeshu (Japanese plum wine). As the cup cools, the coating pink and orange sweetness of ripe passion fruit comes to the fore, settling into crisp red pomegranate in the cup. This is an incredibly complex and even mercurial offering—shifting and evolving in its flavor-orientation with every sip.
