Costa Rica San Isidro Labrador
Costa Rica San Isidro Labrador
Johel Monge, a farm owner who won 1st place in the 2017 COE (Cup of Excellence), 2nd place in 2018, and 1st place in 2019, sold his award-winning farm in Monte Copey, Tarrazú, to a Japanese company. He then entrusted his son, Matias Monge, with running a 20-hectare coffee farm located in the middle of a 300-hectare forest at an altitude of 1,900 to 2,000 meters in the San Isidro Labrador area of Tarrazú, which he inherited from his parents.
As a result, San Isidro Labrador achieved the feat of placing 2nd in 2020, 7th in 2021, 2nd in 2022, and finally taking 1st place with their Geisha Honey in 2023 at the Cup of Excellence.
It has now become one of the representative specialty coffee farms in Costa Rica.
