In 2022, Alaska del Sur made a splash by competing in the Cup of Excellence Ecuador with its Typica Mejorado, achieving a remarkable eighth place in the Top Ten. That same year, Gianmarco Ginatta stood out by winning second place in the 2022 Brewers Cup. In 2023, José Luis Alverez shone by winning first place, while Andrian Ruiz placed third, all showcasing Alaska del Sur coffees.

Located in the Andes, at over 1900 meters above sea level, in the Loja province of Ecuador, the farm enjoys ideal conditions for growing coffee. The sloping terrain consists of well-drained volcanic soil. The area typically experiences a rainy season from November to May, while the rest of the year, irrigation is provided by a river at altitude. Temperatures fluctuate between 11 °C at night and 26 °C during the day, creating an environment conducive to the production of specialty coffee.
