KENYA - KIANDU AA

This batch comes from a group of smallholder farmers, all members of the Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS), who supply their coffee to the Kiandu Coffee Factory. This factory is located in the famous Nyeri County, Kenya, near the town of Tetu.

Mutheka FCS is a relatively new cooperative, founded in 2004 as a split from the Giant Tetu Coffee Growers Co-Operative Society. Located in Nyeri County, between the Aberdare Mountains to the east and Mount Kenya to the west, it operates seven factories and has about 6,000 smallholder coffee farmers. Kiandu Factory is one of the largest, with nearly 1,900 registered members. In Kenya, only a few coffee factories manage to deliver coffee each year.
