Kenya Thunguri AA
Kenya Thunguri AA
Thunguri means "hill" in the Kikuyu language. True to its name, smallholder farmers cultivate coffee atop the hills of the Mukurwe-ini valley at an altitude of 1,650–1,800 meters.
Thunguri was voluntarily established in 1961 by local residents around the time Kenya was transitioning to independence from colonial rule, starting as a cooperative aimed at improving livelihoods through coffee cultivation. Since then, taking into account the fertile soil and environment, they have consistently produced high-quality coffee through sustainable production methods.
